TRACS units were originally designed for hospitals, dental clinics, and clean labs, but they are also ideal for residential use because of both what they do and what they avoid.  They effectively remove airborne asthma and allergy triggers like dust and pollen, prevent the spread of illness by capturing bacteria, viruses, and mold, and clear the air of odors and VOCs. 
Crucially, none of the units in our product line produce ozone or charged 
ions—technologies that can be harmful to your health.  Our units provide real
world solutions for bedrooms, living rooms, nurseries, home offices, and more. 
We intentionally overbuild our systems for these applications because indoor air 
quality issues—such as mold, viruses, wildfire smoke, and chemicals—are 
serious and growing.

No, none of the models in the TRACS product line create ozone 
or negative ions because we use non-ozone-producing lamps. While operating at the required 254 nm wavelength for microorganism deactivation, our lamps 
feature special hardened quartz glass that prevents the creation of ozone or 
negative ions. Furthermore, the UV lamps in the TM250 are safely contained 
within the unit to prevent UV leakage. We also employ an emergency kill switch 
that cuts power to the unit, preventing accidental exposure to the lamps while the unit is running.  Lamps that create ozone or negative ions can be detrimental to your health, which is why you cannot purchase ozone generators in California or Canada for home or office use.

Unlike standard air purifiers that use vague marketing terms like "HEPA-type" or "Bio-HEPA," TRACS utilizes certified H13 HEPA filters. These are individually 
tested to be 99.99% efficient at 0.3 microns, matching the standards used in 
hospital high-risk infection control.  Additionally, most UV units rely on low
dosage lamps placed at the exhaust that lack the power to deactivate 
microorganisms in a single pass. The TM250 places its UV lamps directly before the HEPA filter. This design allows smaller viruses to be destroyed immediately, while larger microorganisms like mold are trapped on the filter and continuously deactivated under constant UV exposure

The internal motor is rated for 50,000+ hours of continuous use. That’s 5+ years nonstop before failure risk. It uses a ball-bearing motor, not a sleeve-bearing one, which means it runs cooler, quieter, and with less wear over time. The casing is steel, not plastic, so there's no warping or rattle over time from vibration or heat.

Air enters the TM-250 through three sides of the upper cabinet, allowing it to 
draw in air directly from the room's normal breathing zone (3–6 feet high) and rapidly replace it with clean, disinfected air exhausted from the lower front.  In contrast, units with bottom air intakes often struggle to draw in dirty air from higher elevations, relying on exhaust circulation to move contaminated air toward the intake. Additionally, bottom-intake units can disturb and pull in dust and dirt from the floor, creating a dirtier surrounding environment and leading to 
premature filter loading.
